FAQs - MeineBase (AlkaBath)

1. Can you wash your hair during an alkaline bath, or does the shampoo change the pH value?

We don’t believe it makes sense to add any foaming products, whether shampoo or foam bath, to the alkaline bath. We don’t want to remove grease from the upper surface of the skin, but instead to eliminate acids and toxins through the sweat glands and sebaceous glands. In this way the skin will oil itself through elimination of sebum from the body via the skin which is stimulated by the alkalinity. This oilfilm is our most important protective chemical coating.

Shampoos and shower products usually have an acid level of about 5.5. Mixing these in to the alkaline full bath would immediately reduce its alkalinity and markedly reduce the desired elimination effect.

However, the level of acidity of your shampoo is fine for washing your hair. If the alkaline value is too high it will give your hair volume, but will make it straw-like and hard to comb. So you should use your shampoo separately from your alkaline bath.

2. Does it make good sense to add foam bath, scent, essential oils or other substances to a full bath with MeineBase (AlkaBath)?

Foam baths cleanse your body in a different way to an alkaline bath. The alkaline bath draws acids and toxins out through the sweat glands and the sebaceous glands in the body, and thus ensures that it is deacidified and detoxified, and that the skin lubricates itself at the same time.

The result is clean, well circulated skin which feels pleasant to the touch. After being cleansed for a time, the skin is free from buildups, and also from eliminations in the form of spots and eczema, free from acne and also free from sweat.

Foam baths degrease the upper skin by means of emulsifiers. To this extent they are indicated for particularly greasy skin. But this degreasing should not be excessive, as the grease in our skin is actually the skin’s protective coat. So for this reason we do not recommend adding foam baths to a MeineBase (AlkaBath) full bath.

It can possibly make sense to add certain essential oils, such as lavender oil or ylang ylang oil for relaxation, or rose oil for sexual stimulation, or thyme oil to strength the respiratory organs.

3. Can MeineBase (AlkaBath) be used for an alkaline drink? How does it operate and work?

The most suitable substance for making an alkaline drink is sodium bicarbonate. If you have no sodium bicarbonate to hand, then the alkaline bath salts MeineBase (AlkaBath) will work.

The alkaline drink consists of one teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate and one glass of water, or one glass of water and a knife tip of MeineBase. This alkaline drink can be used if needed as an emergency measure for muscle cramps and torn muscles, for migraine, stiff hands and fingers, cold feet, for attacks of gout or a flare-up of rheumatism.

The alkaline drink should be drunk down quickly in one go. This alkaline drink should not become a habit, but is only to be drunk in cases of acute need. You shouldn’t manipulate your body fluids and metabolism unnecessarily. But in case of need, this drink is really a great help.

German naturopaths have recommended vomiting as a drastic means of cleansing the body for many centuries. For migraine you can consider this option without worrying. One teaspoon of MeineBase (AlkaBath) to 250 ml of water works wonderfully as an emetic. Vomiting is an unsavory process, but an exceptionally good method of cleansing our organism.

The effects of vomiting as just described and the quickly drunk alkaline drink are just such a mechanism for the entire organism. However, the drink can also have an effect on the stomach if so desired, for example for reflux, stomach ulcers, heartburn etc.

In circumstances such as these, naturally the utmost commandment is to change your diet away from all the indulgence foods we enjoy nowadays to a rounded vegetarian diet, especially one orientated towards MorgenStund’, vegetables and a little fruit.

But an alkaline drink made from 250 ml of water and a level teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate can also be helpful in time of need. For the stomach, this alkaline drink is drunk very carefully and slowly, taking just one to two mouthfuls at first. Then you should wait to see whether the stomach and the pain and feeling unwell have already improved.

If this is the case, then you should stop taking the alkaline drink. But if there has been no improvement, then you should slowly take another one to two mouthfuls. This is generally enough.

So remember: take the alkaline drink quickly and in large mouthfuls for the desired effect over the entire body, and in small mouthfuls and only small quantities for the desired effect on the stomach!

4. Can you also use MeineBase (AlkaBath) bath salts as toothpaste?

Yes, of course, you can also use MeineBase (AlkaBath) as toothpaste. Just put a knife tip of MeineBase on your toothbrush, und clean your top teeth with a gentle half turn of the toothbrush from top to bottom, and the lower teeth with a turn in the opposite direction from bottom to top.

If you have something against toothbrushes, you can wet your index finger and use it for cleaning and massaging your gum and teeth after sprinkling a little MeineBase on your wet finger.

You can also wet your finger and then dip it in the tin containing the bath salts, take your finger out and tap it briefly. The fine salt crystals will stay on your wet finger and you can use them to massage your gums and teeth.

5. If you take a longer full bath or foot bath, do you need to add more MeineBase (AlkaBath) bath salts?

Normally this is only necessary for people with particularly high levels of toxins or waste products. Even in these cases, you only need to add further bath salts after half an hour or an hour during the first week or two after starting your cleansing treatments. In the long term it is not necessary to top up the bath salts.

The chemical elimination processes via the skin take place slowly and only reach their climax after you have spent thirty to sixty minutes in the alkaline full bath or foot bath, or naturally also after wearing AlkalineStockings or Sleeves for this period of time.

By adding a heaped teaspoon of MeineBase (AlkaBath) to a foot bath of three to five litres, or three tablespoons to a bathtub containing 175 to 200 litres, you achieve an alkaline level for the bath water of around pH 8.5. If you buy some of the pH strips we supply, you can use these to measure the alkalinity of your bath water. If this falls below a value of pH 7.5, then you should add some more MeineBase.

Remember to be polite to your wife or husband. Nobody should have to get into the tub and use the water after someone with high levels of acid or waste products or toxins, or have to be the second person to use an already used foot bath. It certainly wouldn’t do them any harm, but nor would it help either.

One reason for adding some more bath salt now and again is if you top up the bath with more warm water and let some of the water that is already in the bath out.

6. Do you need to use body creams or lotions after an alkaline full bath?

Normally it is not necessary to apply creams after a MeineBase (AlkaBath) full bath. The alkaline bath has a self-oiling effect on the skin, which is velvety soft afterwards.

Certainly the use of creams or lotions after a full bath or an evening shower is less for skin care than for its erotic scent. However you should be careful in doing this, because it could make it difficult to get to sleep or sleep through the night.

If you have problems in getting to sleep or sleeping right through, then try not using the creams or lotions you have used in the evening up to now and see whether you find it easier to get to sleep and sleep through the night. But perhaps once, twice or three times a week you don’t want to do without the eroticizing effect of rubbing them in. We can fully understand this.

7. How can I use MeineBase (AlkaBath) bath salts in the sauna or steam bath?

MeineBase (AlkaBath) can be used in the sauna or steam bath in the form of a salt and honey paste. The paste is made by stirring together a heaped tablespoon of MeineBase, around 2 tablespoons of liquid honey and a little water.

The paste is rubbed intensively into the parts of the body which have larger areas of skin. In doing this you should always stroke and massage in the elimination direction, in other words below the elbows and down towards the hands, and above the elbows and upwards to the armpits.

Otherwise then upper body is massaged towards the armpits, and the lower body towards the groin region or the anal region. Above the knee you should massage upwards, and below the knee downwards.

After you have massaged yourself and sweated for fifteen to twenty minutes or longer, then rinse yourself simply with water and you will feel as if you have been born again, with a cleansed and self-oiled skin which feels like velvet and silk.
